  • 1 lb. broccoli
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 2 tsp garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 3 tbsp water

directions

1. Separate the broccoli heads into florets, and peel and slice the stems. Blanch all the broccoli pieces ina large pot of boiling salted water for several minutes. Then drain them and immerse them in cold water. Drain again thoroughly in a colander.
2. Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet. When it is moderately hot, add the garlic and broccoli pieces. Stir fry them for about 1 minute, and then add the hoisin sauce and water. Continue to stir fry at moderately high heat for about 5 minutes, or until the broccoli pieces are thoroughly cooked. Serve at once.
